At the GNC Live Well Liberty Mile, Pittsburgh's premier one-mile street run, CORE will be hosting an information table to educate about the importance of organ, tissue and cornea donation. At this year's event there will be a special heat, "Run 1 for Lucas," to raise awareness for the need of life-saving organ transplants. During this heat, runners are dedicating their one-mile run to two-year-old Lucas Goeller, the local youngster who waited more than 18 months for his life-saving liver transplant.

The GNC Live Well Liberty Mile offers something for everyone with waves ranging from beginners to professional Milers who are capable of breaking the coveted 4-minute standard. The USATF-certified, u-shaped course starts and ends in Market Square and takes participants on Penn and Liberty Avenues in downtown Pittsburgh. The event will also award an overall prize purse of more than $25,000, the third largest for U.S. road Miles.
